Leak Detection made simple!

The Buckleys Wet Roof Leak Detector is now ready and could solve many problems for the roofing industry.  The new system has been specially designed to identify the source of leaks in flat roofs and can be used at any time when the surface is wet (even in the rain!)

The equipment is suitable for all roofs constructed with non-conductive insulation materials.  Extensive trials have been carried out on varying roof structures and the system has proved itself to be very successful even where there are concrete or gravel finishes.  The technology can be used even where there is a roof garden.

The system incorporates a pulse generator together with a receiver/detector unit.  Two test probe poles are supplied together with a reel of polycord wire to create a "test area".  All of the leads that are needed to connect up the system are supplied as part of the kit so there are no extras to be purchased before testing can begin.

The test procedure is performed within a "test area" with the polycord (trace) wire acting as a border.  The ends of the trace wire must be connected together to form a closed circuit (ring). It is also very important that the wire is in good contact with the surface of the roof and, if necessary, adhesive tape or weights should be used.  By using the two test probes (poles) at varying distances apart, pulses will be shown on the receiver/detector unit which will guide the operator to the source of the leak.

Buckleys have used their many years of expertise in the electronics industry to produce a system that is lightweight and easy to set up.  The kit is supplied with a comprehensive instruction manual which will enable roofing contractors to easily use the system, although the interpretation of the readings will be the responsibility of the operator.

The new product will compliment the "Roof Testing Kits" - PD130 and PHD 1-20/2-40 that Buckleys have been supplying for a number of years.  These have been hugely popular with many roofing contractors but their use is limited to testing in dry conditions.  We will now be able to offer a complete testing solution.

The Wet Roof Detection System has been independently tested for safety (BSEN 61010-1) and EMC (BS EN 6100) and will carry the CE mark. Our data sheet with full technical information is now on the web site - please contact us for prices and availability.
