AC Spark Testers for Spark Testing

Buckleys currently manufacture four types of Spark Tester.

Spark Testers generate AC voltages of typically between 10 and 55kV. They are generally used for testing thicker coatings and linings of up to 30mm.

Spark Testers have no audible or visual alarms to indicate a fault and rely on the operator to watch for a spark jumping down a flaw in the coating material. Due to their AC High Frequency operation they can find faults in 100% coated articles.

The ST-AC 100 Spark Tester was designed to comply with the new European Directives relating to Electro Magnetic Compatibility, which were made compulsory in 1996. When it was launched in 1997, it was one of the first Spark Testers to be given the CE approval required for goods being offered for sale within the European Union.
